<br />Councilmember Brenner noted she planned to contact Great Lakes Management and stress the <br />City's desire to market the complex aggressively. <br /> <br />Ordinance #44 A <br />Mr. March distributed amendment to ordinance #44-A Building Design to the Council. Mr. <br />March read the revised ordinance out loud. In addition, Mr. March gave a recap of the <br />surrounding communities requirements. Accordingly, if ordinance #44-A is adopted by the City <br />of Centerville it will be a strict ordinance in comparison to the abutting Cities. The Council <br />proposed changing the... "wall surface of sheet metal in excess of 50% of the surface area" to <br />wall surface of sheet metal in excess of25% of the surface area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht moved and it was seconded to authorize Staff to call for a public <br />hearing at the Planning Commissions first meeting in May. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmember Powers requested building designs and colors scheme be presented as three <br />dimensional models instead offlat plans. Mr. March expressed concern requiring builders or <br />contractors to present three dimensional models because of the cost involved. Councilmember <br />Powers suggested clarity of the sheet metal definition. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner moved and it was seconded to change wall surface of sheet metal in <br />ecess of 50% to 25% of the surface area and accept the amended ordinance. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Engineering Proposal Review <br />Mr. March commented the City received seven Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from the <br />eleven RFP's. Mr. March recommended Council set a date for review to move the process along. <br />Councilmember Brenner suggested Staff make recommendation to the Council. In light of the <br />discussion, the Council elected to have a workshop on May 6, 1998 at 6:00 p.m. to consider <br />engineering proposals. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Uniform Housing Code <br />Mr. March submitted for Council Consideration the Uniform Housing Code and International <br />Property Maintenance Code. In addition, Mr. March spoke to Paul Palzer (public Works <br />Director/Building Official) and they both felt this code would deal with the building condition and <br />aid in clean up of some problem residences in the community. Mr. March recommended that the <br />Council consider adopting this code to supplement the City's Uniform Building Code. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht moved and it was seconded to table the Uniform Housing Code. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5 <br />
