<br />School Flashing Lites <br />Mr. March explained Mike Hughes (Centennial School District) received a quote from OSM <br />Engineering to design the school flashing lites. Furthermore, OSM Engineering's quote is $2800. <br />However, H.R. Green has requested authorization to quote the flashing light project since they <br />have a traffic engineer on staff. Mr. March added, Anoka County plans to authorize a consultant <br />to do the work because of the County time constraints. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht moved and it was seconded to direct City Staff to work with the <br />County to work with the Centerville Engineer and School District. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Centerville Interceptor Improvements and Service Evaluation for the Northeast Region <br />Mr. Nyberg reported the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services will hold a public hearing <br />on April 29, at 7:00 p.m. in Centerville City Hall on the Facility Planning Study for Centerville <br />Interceptor Sewer Improvements. Furthermore, the hearing is being held to present information <br />to the public and will provide a forum for public comment on this project. Mr. Nyberg distributed <br />the East Alignment Alternative Centerville Interceptor (MWCC 7651) map with the proposed <br />east alignment and the new forcemain. Mr. Nyberg noted the proposed plan lends to the <br />development of Centerville, however, other options may not be as favorable. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht requested Metropolitan Council put in writing that they are aware of <br />where Centerville utilities are located and that they are not moving Centerville's utilities. Mr. <br />Phil Bergem P.E. (Howard R. Green Company) commented the Metropolitan Council is <br />recommending an alternative route around Centerville. However, the third recommendation is to <br />run the interceptor to Main Street. <br /> <br />Special Use Permit - Exact Precision Sheet Metal Company <br />Mr. March briefed the Council on the special use permit request submitted from Exact Precision <br />Sheet Metal Company and then announced the sheet metal business was interested in moving into <br />the old Noble Welding Building on Main Street. Also, one owner attended the Planning <br />Commission meeting to request a special use permit. However, there was no quorum and the <br />Commission was unable to respond to the request. Mr. March reiterated ordinance #64 and the <br />Councils authority to waive the public hearing process. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht moved and it was seconded to approve the special use permit for <br />Exact Precision Sheet Metal Company. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Neighborhood Watch <br />Councilmember Brenner identified a neighborhood watch handout in the council information <br />packets. Councilmember Brenner mentioned Conrad and Mary Goodwin are retiring after <br />volunteering for many years. The new neighborhood watch coordinators will be Doug and <br />Noreen Stevens. <br /> <br />Councilmemher Powers moved and it was seconded to send a thank you letter to Bud and Mary <br /> <br />6 <br />
