In addition, Mr. Carlson planned to require the property owners to escrow <br />$3500. with him for sod and landscaping purposes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Powers requested the developer maintain all existing trees in the development. <br />Mr. March commented the planning commission held a public hearing to consider the preliminary <br />plat and to consider rezoning the property from R2 (Single Family Residential) to R2A (High <br />Density Single Family Residential). Mayor Wilharber questioned Mr. Carlson if the development <br />complied with Anoka County roads set back requirements. Mr. Carlson contacted Anoka County <br />and the 20' set backs have been considered. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Powers to approve resolution 98-04: declaring adequacy of <br />petition and ordering preparation of a feasibility report. Motion seconded by Councilmember <br />Helmbrecht. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Awards - Ted Gonsior - Cable Commission and Dan Tourville - Planning Commission <br />Mayor Wilharber recognized Ted Gonsior and Dan Tourville for the numerous hours they <br />dedicated over the past 15 years as the City ofCenterville's representative to the North Central <br />Suburban Cable Communications Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission, <br />respectively. Mayor Wilharber extended the City's appreciation to Mr. Gonsior and Mr. <br />Tourville. <br /> <br />Also, Mayor Wilharber thanked Mr. Tourville for his 21 years of dedication to the Fire <br />Department, being an EDC charter member, and for storing the old Centerville fire truck on his <br />property. Councilmember Brenner shared her appreciation that Mr. Tourville sparked her interest <br />in the senior housing project. <br /> <br />In addition, Mayor Wilharber noted Mr. Gonsior was unable to attend this evening. However, <br />Mr. Gonsior's efforts will not go unnoticed, especially with the direction the access channel and <br />the cable are headed. In closing, Mayor Wilharber noted these are a few of the many volunteers <br />who make our community a better place in which to live. <br /> <br />Engineering Proposal Information <br />Councilmember Brenner lead the engineering proposal discussion. Also, suggesting the Council <br />takes the next step to acquire engineering proposals from selected firms by sending for RFP's <br />(Request for Proposals). Mr. March requested the Council clarify how many firms should submit <br />SOQ (Statement of Qualifications). The Council discussed establishing a specific criteria, such as, <br />requests RFP' s from firms within the vicinity of Centerville, specializing in certain areas of <br />engineering or firms who work in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber called the Councils attention to the time commitment involved in interviewing <br />several firms and suggested limiting the RFP to ten firms. A short discussion followed. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner to authorize Staff to select ten engineering firms and send <br /> <br />5 <br />
