<br />Engineering Proposal Information <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilmember Buckbee to table the <br />engineering proposal until full council is present. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Salary Plan Recommendation <br />Mr. March addressed several errors on the salary plan submitted by Local Government <br />Consultants. The administrator was estimated at $24.46 but actually it should have read $27.85. <br />In addition, the points given the administrator equated to a grade 11, not 10. Mr. March spoke to <br />Ms. Person ofLGC (Local Government Consultants) she indicated there was an error. However, <br />the error would not change the salary chart. <br /> <br />Mr. March commented he developed several scales with a 5 step, 6 step based off the market <br />study. Mr. March added, he will present the charts if directed to do so by the majority of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Cook (Building Inspector) understood the Council planned to adopt the salary system <br />recommendation as submitted. Ms. Gaustad noted the submitted matrix serves the employees <br />well and affords the city the ability to acquire and to maintain quality employees. However, there <br />are several known errors in the salary system recommendation from LGC. Therefore, Ms. <br />Gaustad suggested the errors be corrected to ensure the plan is reliable. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stressed concern that the whole Council was not present to adopt a salary plan. <br />Mayor Wilharber added, it was unfair to request the employees wait longer. Councilmember <br />Brenner favored Option B ofLGC plan. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilmember Buckbee to approve page <br />two and three and to incorporate Option B, as submitted by LOC. Mr. March suggested the <br />motion include correction to anniversary dates. Councilmember Buckbee suggested correcting <br />any mathematical errors. Councilmember Brenner added with an effective date of February 2, <br />1998. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Danell Westbrock (Deputy Clerk) requested clarification from the Council that the employees <br />can submit correction, such as to the grading points. Mayor Wilharber replied all corrections <br />should go through the administrator. <br /> <br />Status of 1998 Goals & Objectives <br />Mayor Wilharber requested everyone submit 1998 goals and objective to the administrator. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Special Election <br />Ms. Gaustad briefed the Council on the Special Election held to fill the State Representative <br />vacancy. Following the January 27, 1998 Special Election, Ray Vandeveer was elected State <br />Representative for District SIB. <br /> <br />3 <br />
