<br />Furthermore, City Staff is exploring options of leasing or purchasing an existing building for <br />Public Works. The City Attorney should draft a purchase agreement authorization if the City <br />would like to pursue the option. Mayor Wilharber commented that Staff and the property owner <br />met to discuss the floodway, sewer and water hook up, the grade line, a LOMA (Letter of Map <br />Amendment) from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), and entertained the <br />possibilities of rebuilding on the site if the structure was destroyed. <br />Also, there are no underground tanks on the property, the phase I preliminary testing is competed <br />and the property is currently listed at $400,000. The cost is less than $400,000 because no <br />Realtor would be involved. Mr. March commented that the pending agreement is an <br />extraordinary value compared to the market value. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved to authorize the City Attorney to work with City Staff to <br />negotiate a contract to purchase the Lake Area Utility property. Councilmember Powers <br />seconded the motion.
