<br />~) <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft advised the Council to approve the resolution as presented. <br />He indicated modifications may be included as part of settlement discussions in <br />the future. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney, seconded by Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers to approve Resolution 00-21. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IV. APPEARANCES/AWARDS <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Malec, Division Manager - Waste Management <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Malec introduced Mr. Gary Boium to the Council as Waste <br />Management's new Municipal Marketing Manager. Mr. Malec stated that Mr. <br />Boium would make periodic visits to ensure that quality services are being <br />provided to the community. <br /> <br />Mr. Malec questioned whether Council had any issues of concern relating to the <br />haulers service and Council reiterated that they are pleased with the services they <br />and residents are receiving. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Mr. Malec thanked the Council for the compliments Waste Management received <br />and for the opportunity to service the community. Mayor Wilharber thanked Mr. <br />Malec for attending. <br /> <br />A consensus was reached to hear the Northern Forest Products Abatement from <br />Unfinished Business at this point in the meeting. <br /> <br />Northern Forest Products Abatement <br /> <br />Paul McDowell, Northern Forest Products, addressed the Council and outlined <br />plans for the expansion of his business. Mr. McDowell presented Council with <br />sketches of a proposed expansion plan for the current Northern Forest Products <br />facility. <br /> <br />Mr. McDowell stated that they have out grown their current facility and <br />expansion would provide a more productive/efficient facility. Mr. McDowell also <br />indicated that Northern Forest Products has an additional site outside of <br />Centerville and expansion of the current facility would allow combining of the <br />two facilities. Mr. McDowell stated that the proposed expansion would be 22,000 <br />or 23,000 square feet and cost approximately $600,000 or $700,000. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber inquired if the detention pond would be able to handle the <br />runoff from the expansion area.
