<br />Ms. Gaustad suggested the approval be contingent upon receipt of a Certificate of Insurance. Council <br />accepted the amendment to the motion. <br /> <br />Wilharber - aye. Travis -aye. Sweeney - aye. Brenner aye. Nelson - nay. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Authorize an EDC Enterprise Fund <br />Mr. March reported that he spoke to Steve McDonald (Abdo, Abdo, Eick and Meyer) and he suggested <br />the City establish a special revenue fund for the EDC. The Council discussed the funds rolling over ye-ar <br />after year. ~. Hoeft stated that the Council would have total control and the City's budget fund would <br />not roll over year to year. Councilmember Nelson clarified that one additional and separate fund be <br />established in addition to the existing fund. The additional fund will only contain funds raised for <br />approved ventures. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Nelson. Councilmember Travis to set up a special revenue fund. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Recycling Coordinator <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned the Council and Staff as to their ideas as to what to do with the recent <br />resignation of the Recycling Coordinator. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner suggested advertising for a Recycling Coordinator to see the interest of possible <br />candidates. Councilmember Nelson suggested placing someone who can do Public Relations and <br />recycling. <br /> <br />Mr. March suggested to discuss the recycling position and its duties during the June 29, 1999 workshop. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded by Councilmember Nelson to award Randy Hagerty with <br />a reco2:nition plaque. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Centerville Elementary School Variance <br />Ms. Gaustad submitted a report of findings to the Council regarding the variance request. Mayor <br />Wilharber read aloud the reasons to grant a variance (please see attached). Based on the information <br />presented the following action was taken. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded by Councilmember Brenner to approve the Centerville <br />Elementary School sign. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: <br /> <br />Councilmember Nelson stated that during the Planning Commission meeting, concern was voiced if <br />vehicles can see around the sign. Moreover, the issue was addressed when Ms. Rennekar stated that <br />Officer Makkla and her reviewed that concern on site and found the height to be acceptable. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber read aloud a letter from Margaret Langfeld, Anoka County Commissioner and <br />submitted it for the record.
