Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Ordinance #5 - Firearms <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded-by Councilmember Nelson to table the firearms issue. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council/Commission/Committee Recognition -Plaques <br />Ms. Gaustad gave a brief explanation of the Planning Commission's recommendation for <br />Council, Commission, Committee recognition plaques. The Commission dis-cussed presenting <br />Mr. John Buckbee with a plaque for years of service. During the discussion, ChairWelksuggested <br />purchasing a recognition plaque that would hang at City Hall, describing who served and. when they <br />served. Moreover, a certificate of appreciation could be presented during meeting. <br /> <br />The Council discussed what plaques to purchase and when to start recognizing members that served. <br />Councilmember Brenner considered recognizing staff for years of service, such as, the Building Inspector <br />that has been employed at the City for five years. Councilmember Nelson suggested-that documentation <br />should determine validity. Ms. Gaustad suggested a separate plaque for the Mayors. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Nelson. seconded by Councilmember Brenner to instruct staff to <br />determine how far back to recognize Councils. Commissions and Committees and to set up a <br />criteria for each. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Animal Ordinance #24 <br />lVlotion by Councilmember Nelson. seconded by Councilmember Travis to table Animal <br />Ordinance #24. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VII. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Flood Plain Ordinance Amendment <br />The Council discussed approving the flood plain ordinance amendment. Mr. Hoeft commented in <br />light of the proposed amendments the city plans to submit to FEMA, perhaps it would be advantageous <br />to table the issue until the City amendment application is finalized. Due to the flood plain reduction <br />possibilities the Council elected to table the Flood Plain Ordinance as per Mr. Hoeft's recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded by Councilmember Nelson to table Flood Plain Ordinance <br />Amendment. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber noted that there is a DARE Meeting scheduled at the Elementary School. <br /> <br />IX.
