<br />City ofCenterville Meeting Minutes September 25, 1996 <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Helmbrecht to authorize the city staff to purchase the <br />Chevrolet truck at $23,515.64, to be financed by the city, including the 9 foot plow and <br />trade in the old truck. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Helmbrecht concerning the incident with the fog - the county could be approached to put <br />in a flashing yellow light near the school cross walk. <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, seconded by Brenner to have staff contact Anoka County <br />regarding the warning signs. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Brenner reported on the EDe. They did not have a meeting but they put up the City <br />Sign. There was a good turn out and good staff support, Jim, Ken, Paul, Danell and <br />Ry-Chel. Brenner would like a letter to EDC thanking them for their time and help from <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />Helmbrecht reported she thought it was nice the city was included during the oral <br />interviews which weighted 50% of the hiring process for 2 part-time Police Officers. She <br />enjoyed the interviews and was glad she attended. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRA TOR REPORTS <br />Tim Danielson's Probation - March reported Tim's probation is over on October 1st. <br />March referred to Paul's written recommendation offering permanent, full-time <br />employment. March explained the union negotiation workshop is scheduled for October <br />2, at 5: 00 P.M. and the lawyer will be present. <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Helmbrecht to hire Tim Danielson as a permanent <br />full-time employee. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION by Wilharber, seconded by Buckbee to hold a union negotiation workshop on <br />Wednesday, October 2, 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Cable Commission - March stated he had attended a Cable meeting. March reported Coon <br />Rapids chose to leave the cable Commission and they have tried to persuade Blaine to go <br />with them - although Blaine plans to stay on. March plans to meet with the cable <br />commission representative in the next couple weeks. March will relay the information to <br />Buckbee. <br /> <br />Other - Dirt pile north of Tom Thumb will be leveled off and a fee was collected for a <br />permit. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Gaustad reported the '96 fall newsletter will be at the next council meeting for editing. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />6 <br />
