<br />~ PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: <br /> <br />Mr. March reported that the Barons 7121 Centerville Road, complained about parking restriction <br />when functions are held at the Elementary School. They are unable to exit their yard without <br />driving on Mr. Lalond's property. Mr. March spoke with Officer Gleason, they concluded a no <br />parking sign on both sides of West view should address the issue. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Helmbrecht, seconded by Councilmember Buckbee to approve a <br />no parking sign on both sides of West view Street. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. March reported a call was received requesting Heritage Street be repaired. Mr. March <br />commented the road is in bad condition and repairs should be considered. Mr. Nyberg <br />commented there was discussion of redoing Heritage Street in 1996 when the water main <br />connected to Centerville Road. Councilmember Helmbrecht suggested Jim, Paul and Dave meet <br />and let the Council know. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyberg reported Mr. Bill Perrizo 7397 Mill Road, petitioned for water because he has a <br />failing mound system. Mr. Perrizo requested if granted the project cost be assessed. <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht asked "What is the likelihood of an MUSA extension?" Mr. March <br />explained since there is a failing mound system and since it is close to the lake it may be <br />considered. Mr. Nyberg suggested doing a feasibility study and get back to the council. <br />Councilmember Powers suggested looking into the ramifications of servicing this area instead of <br />another area. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES: <br /> <br />Don Casanova - Casanova, Inc. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Don Casanova were present to discuss Tax Increment Financing (TIF). Mr. and <br />Mrs. Casanova explained they have made a down payment on property south of REEL <br />Manufacturing. They plan to build a 10,000 square foot building, use 6,000 square feet and rent <br />out the remaining square footage. The additional acreage would be used for future expansion. <br />Mr. March explained Mr. Casanova has begun filling out the TIF application. One of the City's <br />goals is to maintain businesses, in Centerville. Mr. March spoke with Sid Inman at Ehlers & <br />Associates, and both Sid and himself felt confident the district could be operational 60 days. <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht agreed with Tom's letter suggesting 90% ofTIF and a rezoning <br />were acceptable. Councilmember Helmbrecht requested a consensus of the Council. All agreed. <br /> <br />Ken Sorenson - Waterworks Beach Club - Summer Jam '97 <br />Mr. Sorenson reported the Annual Summer Jam is sponsored by KDWB to raise funds for the <br />University of Minnesota Variety Club Hospital for Children. In 1996 approximately $45,000 was <br />raised to benefit the Hospital. This year, KDWB would like to hold the event on Saturday, June <br />28, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />It <br />
