~ CHAPTER 3 - MISION STATEMENT PURPOSE Section 1 - It shall be the goal of the Circle Pines-Lexington Police Department to provide the highest quality of law enforcement protection possible to the citizens of the Cities of Circle Pines and Lexington, the State of Minnesota, and all those individuals that the members of this Department shall encounter in the conduct of their tours of duty. It is the aim of the Circle Pines-Lexington Joint Police Commission and the Chief of Police that the standards of police performance afforded to these communities is of the highest quality in regards to the efficiency, courtesy, competency and speed with which complaints and reports from the public are handled. To that end, the following Mission Statement is hereby adopted: MISSION STATEMENT The Circle Pines-Lexington Police Department is committed to excellence, fairness and compassion in providing professional police services in accordance with the law, reflective of the priorities and shared values of the communities and in harmony with the mission of the Cities of Circle Pines and Lexington. PRINCIPLES _ Our highest priority is the protection of life and property with respect for Constitutional rights. _ We emphasize prevention and safety by providing education and information to our communities. _ We utilize training, technology and innovation to achieve excellence in community oriented policing. _ We protect the rights and dignity of citizens by conducting community contacts with courtesy and professionalism. _ We provide leadership to the police profession and support for our fellow officers by recognizing and investing in individual worth. _ Our success will be measured by the confidence, support, sense of security and well being of our community t
