<br />~ <br /> <br />NOTEWORTHY CASES ASSIGNED IN 1996 <br /> <br />January <br /> <br />A local male resident forges his parents checks and steals their automobile. Engine in automobile is <br />ruined. Felony charges are filed on both counts. <br /> <br />A local female resident assaults a CPLPD officer during a domestic incident. Female is charged with <br />felony assault. <br /> <br />February <br /> <br />Several patrons at a Lexington lounge are involved in assaults against each other. Investigation into case <br />reveals incidents of underage drinking. Bar staff as well as the underage parties are charged out. <br /> <br />A local female resident alleges she's a victim of burglary, damage to property, and theft. All reports are <br />found to be unfounded. <br /> <br />March <br /> <br />A former male resident of the area forges several checks at a Circle Pines lounge. Checks were from a <br />caretaker account that had previously been valid. Upon investigation into case, suspect found to have fled <br />to another state. Warrant for his arrest has been issued. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />A Circle Pines strip mall falls victim to break-ins at several businesses. Suspects were believed in <br />businesses casing only a few days prior to the break-ins. Suspects have not been located or charged. <br /> <br />April <br /> <br />Terroristic threats are leveled at a Centerville official. Male suspect is charged with the crime by the <br />Centerville city attorney after the Anoka County Attorney's office denies to charge the complaint as filed <br />by police. <br /> <br />Several local juveniles break into a large Circle Pines business. Suspects are identified and confess to <br />crime. The business and parents of the juvenile suspects work out a restitution program, diverting the <br />juveniles from having to appear in court. <br /> <br />Graffiti is found scrawled on a Circle Pines strip mall and senior center. Four male juvenile suspects are <br />identified and all but one confess to their involvement in the crimes. All are found guilty in court <br />including the male party who denied being involved. <br /> <br />May <br /> <br />A Circle Pines business falls victim to burglary for the second time within a month. Suspects, believed <br />still in business upon police arrival, are not located. Case has not been solved. <br /> <br />A Lexington business falls victim to an armed robbery. Police are less than 30 seconds from business <br />when call goes out. Suspect (s) are not apprehended. Case is still under investigation. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />Staff members at a Circle Pines school are victims of harassment/stalking. Male suspect is notified to <br />cease and desist. Male continues behavior and is charged out in court by the Circle Pines City Attorney. <br />
