~ CITY OF CENTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 9, 1997 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council for the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled council meeting and held the board of review on April 9, 1997, at City Hall. Mayor Tom Wilharber called the council meeting and board of review to order at 6:00 p.m. PRESENT: Mayor Wilharber Councilmember Mary Jo Helmbrecht Councilmember Sanna Buckbee Councilmember Theresa Brenner Councilmember Laura Powers-Rasmussen - Arrived at 7:35 p.m. STAFF/CONSULTANTS: Jim March, City Administrator R y-Chel Gaustad, City Clerk David Nyberg, City Engineer BOARD OF REVIEW: Mayor Wilharber opened giving notice that the board of equalization in the City of Centerville, Anoka County, Minnesota, has met at the Office of the Clerk i~ the said City, at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday the ninth day of April 1997 for the purpose of reviewing and correcting the assessment of the said City for the year 1998. All persons considering themselves aggrieved by said assessment, or who wish to complain that the property of another is assessed too low, have been notified to appear at said meeting, and show cause of having such assessment corrected. No complaint that another person is assessed too low will be acted upon until the person so assessed, or his agent, will have been notified of such complaint. Mayor Wilharber introduced Todd Smith, Anoka County Assessor. Mr. Smith distributed a synopsis of the 1996 sales in Centerville and the 1997 assessments payable in 1998. (EXHIBIT A) 1..1r. Smith commented, to date he had received eight assessment calls from Centerville residents. Further, in 1997 two hundred and forty-five parcels were evaluated. However, because of the anticipated growth more parcels are expected in 1998. It Mayor Wilharber asked if anyone had any questions for Mr. Smith. There was no comment. Mr. Smith requested to stay in the event of late arrivals. 1
