Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmember Powers left the Council Chambers at 8:49 p.m. <br /> <br />Public Works Truck Replacement <br />Mr. Palzer stressed the need to supply a vehicle to the Building InspectionlPublic Works <br />employees. Mr. Palzer explained other employees have been accommodated for their needs, <br />however, when Mr. Cook's position was developed a vehicle was not supplied. Mr. Palzer <br />indicated the truck will be used 20 percent for building inspections, 30 percent for maintaining the <br />water structure, and 50 percent for Public Works use. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Buckbee to authorize Staff to investigate used vehicles and <br />purchase a truck for the use of Public Works/ Building Inspections. Motion seconded by <br />Councilmember Brenner. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Main Street Traffic Study <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Helmbrecht stressed the need to address the high traffic speed in front of <br />the elementary school. Furthermore, for safety purposes the school is considering replacing <br />student traffic patrollers with adult traffic patrollers. Councilmember Helmbrecht urged Staff to <br />contact Anoka County and the Police Department to address the speed concern. <br /> <br />.MOTION by Councilmember Helmbrecht to authorize Staff to request the Police Department <br />video tape the traffic and student crossing. Also, copy Anoka County Commissioner Margaret <br />Langfeld on all correspondence. Councilmember Helmbrecht requested this project be classified <br />top priority. Motion seconded by Councilmember Brenner. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht requested another letter requesting action, is sent to Jane Pemble, <br />Anoka County Highway Department. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Senior Housing Ground breaking <br />Councilmember Brenner reported the senior housing ground breaking was scheduled at 4:00 p.m. <br />on Wednesday, October 22, 1997. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning <br />Mr. March briefed the Council on the results of the October Planning and Zoning meeting. The <br />Willow Glen Business Park concept preliminary plat was approved.
