<br />Planning & Zoning Commission Report and RecommendatioD. <br /> <br />The Planning & Zoning Commission met on July 3, 2007, to consider a request of Jason <br />Snyder on behalf of Bobby & Steve's Auto World to approve a conditional use permit for <br />7137 - 20th Avenue South to operate an automobile repair business. <br /> <br />Findings: <br /> <br />1) The applicant's intentions to operate the business were expressed on a short <br />application but did not include sufficient detail to understand exactly how the <br />business would operate under the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />2) The applicant did not attend the meeting of June 5, 2007 where the application was <br />received by the Commission nor did the applicant attend the public hearing of July 3, <br />2007. <br /> <br />3) The applicant did not provide the written narrative requested by the City <br />Administrator which may have helped the Commission understand the applicant's <br />specific use and operations at 7137 - 20th Avenue South. <br /> <br />4) The Commission received photographs showing that the applicant has begun <br />operations requiring a conditional use permit for automobile repair at 7137 - 20th <br />Avenue South without first obtaining a conditional use permit from the City. <br /> <br />5) The Commission is obligated by law to make a decision on the requested conditional <br />use permit in a timely manner. <br /> <br />DECISION/RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission has not received adequate information from the <br />applicant to judge the suitability of the business operations at 7137 - 20th Avenue South <br />and for this reason finds that a conditional use permit for automobile repair is not <br />warranted or appropriate. The Planning & Zoning Commission therefore must <br />recommend denial of the applicant and urges that the City Council sustain their action. <br /> <br />Dallas Larson, Administrator <br /> <br />,;jp <br />
