<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of <br />the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />December 10, 1980, in City Hall. Mayor Savela called the <br />meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present were: L'Allier, Laska <br />and Murray. Motion by Laska, second by Murray to accept the <br />minutes of the November 26, 1980 meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />P~TITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Guard rails in front of superette, <br />Laska reporting on status of storing snow plow truck 'for the <br />winter months. <br /> <br />Clerk read letters from the following to be considered for <br />the vacancy on the council, effective January 1, 1981: <br />Mrs. Audrey Burque, 1709 Main Street; Mr. Steve Marcello., <br />1588 -Peltier Lake Drive; Mr. Charles Baumann, 6903 Center- <br />ville Road; Thomas Wilharber, 6849 Centerville Road and <br />Mr. Charles Cross, 1581 Peltier Lake Drive. Decision was <br />tabled until agenda finished. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Hubinger of Beulke Agency presented insurance package <br />for City of Centerville for year 1981. Mr. Hubinger advised <br />council on divident program through Home Insurance ~here <br />the City should expect a divident of approximately $1400. <br />in 1982 and about 6-8 months later, an additional dividend <br />of $450. Mayor Savela requested letter from Beulke Agency <br />citing changes and premium increases in our policy which <br />would take effect January 1, 1981. <br /> <br />Jerry Sundberg advised council Mr. Des Englund will be the <br />Fire Chief, effective January 1, 1981 and Mr. William Svetin, <br />Secretary-Treasurer. Positions will be designated and approved <br />at January 14, 1981 meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Laska, second by Murray, to place the $2500. <br />from the sale of the 1951 Ford Fire Truck to the City of <br />New 1V1unich into the fire department operating budget for <br />1980, motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by L'Allier, second by Murray, to remit Estimate #1 <br />to Ro-So Contracting for Improvement #80-1 in the amount of <br />$22,557.18, motion carried. <br /> <br />Mark Verplaetse of 7192 Mill Road appeared before council <br />concerned over the construction of a wye off of his stub <br />causing water backing up in his basement. Walt Williams <br />brought council up to date on situation concerning the <br />sewer hook-up for Lot 7, Block 2, Peterson's Old Homestead <br />Addition and that the contractor was supposed to wye off <br />the stub on Lot 8 instead of Lot 6. Due to the problem, <br />motion was made by Murray, second by L'Allier to withhold <br />issuing occupancy permit for the home on Lot 7, Block 2,' <br />Peterson's Old Homestead Addition until such time as the <br />contractor has made connection into the city pipe in the <br />street, motion carried. Mayor also requested a letter from <br />contractor to the City advising that the road will be restored <br />to its original state after excavation takes place, if not <br />at this time, in the spring of 1981. <br /> <br />~ <br />
