Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 1980 in City Hall. Mayor Durque called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were L'Allier, Laska and Savela. Motion by Savela, second by Laska to accept the minutes of the June 11th meeting, motion carried. Clerk administered the oath of office to Ray Murray, filling term of council member expiring December 31, 1980. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: storage building on property located between 1976 and 1981 Main Street is very unsightly. Rehbein~ grading permit was discussed and tabled until next meeting. Street lighting in Rehbein Estates was also discussed. Drainage problem in Peterson's Old Homestead Addition was discussed. The following corrections should be made: 1. A concrete slab and beehive catch basin should be installed on the existing manhole in the backyard of Lot 5, Block 2. Also, a stub should be extended +10' -0" north out of this man- hole to drain the retention pond. 2. The proposed retention pond should be excavated to an elevation of +1'-0" above the bottom of the existing pipe. 3. The rough grading of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2 and Lots 1, Block 1 should be completed. 4. The owner should spread ]" of topsoil and seed the ditch along the back lot lines of Peterson's Old Homestead Addition, the retention pond, the rough graded lots and the ditch in front of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, and Lots 1, Block 1. Also, the water and mud sits in these manholes because the ditch west of Mill Road has filled in over the years. Consensus of council is to request appearance of Mrs. Peterson at next meeting on July 9 in order to remedy portion of the above problem and request W & G Rehbein bros. to look at ditch west of Mill Road for estimate and procedure in cleaning ditch. Discussion held on Estimate #6 from Northern Asphalt. Complaints from council and audience were heard on the street project. Motion by L'Allier, second by Savela to withhold payment of ~stimate #6 at this time until corrections are made to the satisfaction of ~ngineer and people, motion carried. Mrs. Marita Haberman, Centerville representative on the District Memorial Hospital Board gave brief background presentation on the Hospital activities and also submitted her resignation as Board member as of June 2], 1980 as she has accepted position with the Hospital. Mrs. Haberman recommended Mrs. Jill Kelly of 7258 Mill Road to fill her vacancy on the Board which expires December 31, 1980. Motion by Savela, second by Laska to appoint Mrs. Jill Kelly Centerville representative on the District Memorial Hospital Board for the balance of the term expiring December 31, 1980, motion carried.
