Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, May 28, 1980 in City Hall. Acting Mayor nurque called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were Laska, L'Allier and Savela. Gary Savela made a motion to accept the minutes of the May 14 meeting, Floyd Laska seconded it, motion carried. Acting Mayor Burque asked the council for names of persons to be considered for the appointment of Mayor to fill the unexpired term of office. Leon L'Allier's name was submitted and L'Allier wanted time to consider it. Acting Mayor burque asked the audience for names to be considered. Sue Hendricks' name was submitted. Matter was tabled until next meeting. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Complaints were noted on the policing in the Gity; speeders on Mill Road and party dumping debris on City property. Councilmen Savela and L'Allier reported on their survey of the fence problem on Peltier Lake Drive. Council instructed Harvey Cartier to go around City and see if there are any other obstructions in the city right-of-way. The petition concerning the fire arms ordinance was discussed. Chief Myhre and Game Warden Mike Thesing were in attendance to answer questions from the council and audience. Floyd Laska made a motion not to change fire arms ordinance in any way, motion died for lack of second. Clerk was to request copy of Lino Lakes ordinance on fire arms and matter would be put on the June 11th agenda. Motion by L'Allier, second by Savela to have a plaque made up for Walter Prachar for his years of service as Mayor of Centerville, motion carried. Clerk was instructed to issue a 3.2 beer permtt for the Marvin Softball Tournament to be held on the 28 and 29 of June at the Twin Lakes Ballfield and hours of selling beer would be 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on the 28th and 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM on the 29th. Motion by Savela, second by Laska to adjourn, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:25 pm.
