<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Gity Council <br />of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />May 14, 1980 in City Hall. Mayor Prachar called the <br />meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were: Burque, L'Allier, <br />Laska and Savela. Also present Attorney Hawkins and Engineer <br />Williams. Minutes of meetings held on April 2J and May 8 were <br />approved. <br /> <br />P~TITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: (1) Complaint voiced against <br />Lake Sanitation; (2) inlet to the culvert in back of ~eter- <br />son's Old Homestead Addition; (J) sodding done on resident <br />property in connection with street project; (4) persons riding <br />horses on city streets. <br /> <br />Grading permit for Gerald Rehbein was discussed. Several <br />items concerning permit were discussed which Attorney will <br />check. Motion by L'Allier, second by Savela to grant grading <br />permit to Rehbein for ]0 days pending receipt of bond or <br />letter of credit for $20,000 and matter being brought up <br />at June 11th meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the fences that are on the City right- <br />of-way on Peltier Lake Drive. Motion by L'Allier, second by <br />Burque for the clerk to inform the two residents that have <br />fences on the city right-of-way to remove them and advise <br />them the City does not allow encroachments on their right-of- <br />way, motion carried. <br /> <br />The drainage ditch in the Center Oaks project that needs <br />attention was discussed and engineer advised council that <br />problem with ditch will be taken care of in the next two weeks. <br /> <br />The city parking lot for commuters was discussed and no <br />decision reached. <br /> <br />Clerk advised council of softball tournament to be held <br />at the pavillion ballfield on the 31st of May and 1st of <br />June. Motion by Savela, second by Burque to issue perffiit <br />for the Klondike Softball Tournament to be held on the above <br />dates with the selling of 3.2 Beer on Saturday the 31st from <br />8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, the 1st from 12:00 Noon <br />to 8:00 PM, motion carried. <br /> <br />Request from the Anoka County Historical Society was turned down. <br /> <br />Fire Chief appeared before Council asking if the City wants <br />the Fire Department to continue operating under present <br />conditions. The Chief stated they would like the City garage <br />improved so they could house two trucks. A committee ..of <br />Burque, Savela and Sundberg are to look into matter. Chief <br />also stated the Ford is not in very good shape and department <br />is considering purchasing a tanker for their use and members <br />are also interested in receiving compensation for their <br />services to be considered at budget preparation time. <br />
