<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of <br />the City of CenterviIle held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />August 12, 1981 in the City Hall. Acting Mayor Leon L'Allier <br />called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM- Present were Laska, <br />Murray and Wilharber. Absent: Savela. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Laska to approve minutes of <br />July 22, 1981 meeting, motion carried. Mayor Savela arrived <br />at meeting (8:10 PM) and presided from this time forward. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Softball tournaments at Twin Lakes <br />Ballfield (tabled) until later in meeting as it is Agenda <br />Item #5 under old business, resident dislike on appearance of <br />moved in house on Shad Avenue, Building Inspector to check <br />on garage being built at 1782 Peltier Lake Drive, complaint <br />from Richard Carpenter on his drainage problem at 7095 Center- <br />viII Road, sod placed in ditch on 20th and Main Street needs <br />replacing by contractor, lot behind 7072 Progress Road full <br />of weeds. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jack Herdina of 7095 Brian Drive appeared before council <br />requesting variance to Ordinance #10. Variance was requested <br />because of storage building being proposed in back yard and <br />setback would be only 15 feet from property line. Clerk <br />advised council P & Z has recommended granting variance. <br />Motion by Laska, second by Wilharber, to grant variance to <br />ORDINANCE #10, Section II, R~SIDENTIAL, paragraph G - REAR <br />YARD REQUIR~MENTS, motion carried. <br /> <br />Resolution on proposed sewage sludge or solid waste landfill <br />site in Hugo tabled until August 26th meeting. <br /> <br />~layor Savela brought council up to date on Centerville Park <br />situation. Motion by L'Allier, second by Wilharber to adopt <br />Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering <br />Advertisement for Bids, motion carried. Copy of Resolution <br />is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Special <br />meeting will be called for Tuesday, August 18th at 7:00 PM <br />in City Hall to consider bids on project. Park & Recreation <br />members are requested to attend. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on Rolling Green Properties request to <br />move in house on Mill Road. Residents in attendance gave <br />their views on request. Assistant City Attorney Burke <br />advised council on several items to consider before granting <br />acceptance of request. Request was not granted as there <br />was no representative from Rolling Green Properties in <br />attendance. Clerk will advise Rolling Green Properties of <br />council action. <br /> <br />Discretionary fund application was tabled until August 26th <br />meeting. <br />
