Maintain a safe, efficient and convenient multi-modal transportation system. <br /> <br />. Protect the integrity of the transportation system. <br /> <br />. Provide sufficient off street parking. <br /> <br />o Provide transportation choices to the residents of Centervllle by encouraging <br />alternatives to the slngle-occupent vehicle such as carpooling, bicycling, walking <br />and mass transit. <br /> <br />Policies reflect the position of the City on the specific Implementation of the Goals. It is <br />the policy of the City of Centervllle to: <br /> <br />o Develop land use development standards that promote sefe and efficient accass <br />to the transportation system. <br /> <br />. Protect the .small town. atmosphere of the City. <br /> <br />o Develop land uses and access spacing guidelines compatible with the functional <br />classification of the regional highway system. <br /> <br />. Establish a local transportation network which preserves neighborhood identity <br />while linking together neighborhoods, community parks and facilities. <br /> <br />o Identify long term transportation corridors to provide access to and within the City <br />as development occurs. <br /> <br />. Identify potential trail corridors for long term linkage to neighborhoods, public <br />parks and businesses and construct those trails as funding allows. <br /> <br />o Coordinate transportation planning and system Improvements with surrounding <br />communities as well as Anoka County and the Mlnnesote Department of <br />Transportation. <br /> <br />o Work with the Metro Transit to maximize trenslt opportunities for the community. <br /> <br />o Continue to monitor development of the Rush Une Corridor and Identify <br />opportunities for park and ride facilities and/or transit connections to the corridor. <br /> <br />Traffic Analysis Zones (TAZ) <br /> <br />The entire City of Centerville falls within T AZ. number 98.
