Meeting Minutes - CC <br />August 94, 1989 <br />Page Five <br />Clerk/Administrator to contact John Stewart, City Engineer, and <br />request an opinion as to whether sidewalks within the City of <br />Centerville should be bituminous or concrete and the appropriate <br />reasons why or why not, motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Pelton , second by Neumann to direct the <br />Clerk/Administrator to contact Bill Hawkins, City Attorney, to <br />look at the Hardwood Pond Estates development contract to <br />determine if the materials used in the required contract are at <br />the discretion of the City or the developer, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The new residents present at the meeting were welcomed into the <br />City and encouraged to become involved in City government. They <br />were encouraged to come into City Hall to check zonings, <br />comprehensive plans, development agreements and any other <br />concerns that they may have. It was noted that there currently <br />is a position open on the Planning and Zoning Commission. All <br />residents in attendance were encouraged to submit letters of <br />interest. <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Peterson to allow an exemption <br />for the installation of sod for the front ten feet of the street <br />right of way area along the west side of Brian Drive until such <br />time a final decision can be made with regard to the timing of <br />the construction of the sidewalk, motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Peterson, second 8urgstahler to approve the purchase of <br />a nine foot plow versus and eight foot plow to be installed on <br />the new City truck, the difference in price between the eight <br />foot and the nine foot plow is an additional $175.00, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Neumann to table discussion of <br />alleged damage to siding at 7073 Centerville Road from hockey <br />pucks until such time the insurance adjuster can give an opinion <br />as to City liability and/or coverage regarding the claim, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Haberman noted that by the Cemetery and in front of 1745 <br />Main Street, a slope will have to be put into the Main Street <br />
