I

Meeting Minutes - CC
August 9, 1989
Page Eleven

Council to do this" It appears that they may be going in
different directions, and as of yet may have not had a good
meeting of the minds. He noted that to get specific plans and
proposals the City Council must first decide what it is they want
with regard to municipal facilities. He noted that the City
council may know ideally what is wanted or required, but must be
prepared to scale back.

Council member Pelton noted that the City Council must know how
much they have to spend first.

It appeared that the consensus of the City Council was to direct
Mayor Haberman and Council member Pelton to work together
regarding a municipal building program. It also appeared that
the consensus of the city Council was to direct the
Clerk/Administrator to translate building costs wi th regard to
their effect on City taxes using funds available and information
provided by Carolyn Drude, city Municipal Advisor.
Clerk/Administrator will work with Council member Burgstahler
with regard to this issue.

Motion by Pelton, second by Burgstahler to hold a special budget
meeting on Thursday, August 17, 1989 at City Hall at 7:00 p.m.;
other issues may also be discussed at this meeting to include the
Park and Recreation Joint Powers Agreement with the cities of
Lino Lakes, Circle Pines and Lexington; annexation; and other
items which may become appropriate, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Haberman, second by Burgstahler to make current payment
of claims, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Neumann, second by Pelton to adjourn meeting, motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 10:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

~~}wW~AW- ~~ 1~~~(~

Tamara M. M1ltz-M1Iier
TMM/dkg
