He noted that to get specific plans and <br />proposals the City Council must first decide what it is they want <br />with regard to municipal facilities. He noted that the City <br />council may know ideally what is wanted or required, but must be <br />prepared to scale back. <br /> <br />Council member Pelton noted that the City Council must know how <br />much they have to spend first. <br /> <br />It appeared that the consensus of the City Council was to direct <br />Mayor Haberman and Council member Pelton to work together <br />regarding a municipal building program. It also appeared that <br />the consensus of the city Council was to direct the <br />Clerk/Administrator to translate building costs wi th regard to <br />their effect on City taxes using funds available and information <br />provided by Carolyn Drude, city Municipal Advisor. <br />Clerk/Administrator will work with Council member Burgstahler <br />with regard to this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Burgstahler to hold a special budget <br />meeting on Thursday, August 17, 1989 at City Hall at 7:00 p.m.; <br />other issues may also be discussed at this meeting to include the <br />Park and Recreation Joint Powers Agreement with the cities of <br />Lino Lakes, Circle Pines and Lexington; annexation; and other <br />items which may become appropriate, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Haberman, second by Burgstahler to make current payment <br />of claims, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Pelton to adjourn meeting, motion <br />carried unanimously.
