Meeting Minutes - CC
August 9, 1989
Page Ten

Discussion of municipal facilities.

Council member Pelton had contacted two architectural firms. It
is estimated that the architectural and engineering fees would be
approximately 6% to 7% of the cost of the building. Office space
of a building would cost from $50.00 to $80.00 per square foot
($70.00 being the norm), and the garage space would cost
approximately $30.00 per square foot. Estimating garage space at
3000 square feet, the cost of the garage space would be
approximately $90,000. Estimating the office space at
approximately 2000 square feet, the cost of the office space in a
proposed municipal fire building would be approximately $140,000.
The total cost of the proposed building being approximately
$230,000. It is estimated that
the project could take minimum of one year if all Council members
agree and there are no problems with regard to the plan, the
contract document or the building of the facility.

council member Neumann advised that he had been quoted $175,000
as a purchase price for the RoSo Contracting building. He
advised that he had collected data which indicates that it would
cost them an additional $125,000 to remodel the building to the
City needs.

Council member Burgstahler noted that he does have background
information wi th regard to municipal facili ties, but that the
Council has not advanced much further than this information. He
noted that the city may need to obtain a specific plan and
proposals. He noted that it may be difficult for the city
