Meeting Minutes - CC
November 20, 1989
Page Two

council member Pelton noted that the Community Transit Planning
Grant proposal submitted by the city of Centerville to the Regional
Transit Board was not selected to receive funding for the 1990
year, however it was suggested that the City reapply for the 1991
year.

Mayor Haberman thanked Mark Glocke for his representation of
Centerville on both the Light Rail Transit Committee and the Anoka
County Public Transit Committee.

Proposed Motor Sports Event on Centerville Lqke.

A representative of the stone Brothers organization was present to
request City Council feedback on a possible four wheel drive race
event on Centerville Lake in February. The representatives noted
several items.

February 4, 1990 would be the tentative date for the
event.

stone Brothers would carry it's own insurance.

The event would be supported by the Waterworks Bar.

This would be a timed event where each truck would go
around the lap individually.

stone Brothers is a four wheel drive organization.

Monies would be used for the promotion of four wheel
drive.

The organization does not expect a profit.

Centerville would be listed as co-insured with the
Waterworks Bar on the insurance.

An entrance would be near the Waterworks parking lot, and
this entrance would be destroyed after the event so
others would not use the track.

The event would probable be scheduled for a 9:00 a.m.
registration and races to be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.

There would be no loud speakers.

If there were not enough snow for the berms, the event
would be cancelled for safety reasons.
