<br />Meeting Minutes - CC <br />November 20, 1989 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />council member Pelton noted that the Community Transit Planning <br />Grant proposal submitted by the city of Centerville to the Regional <br />Transit Board was not selected to receive funding for the 1990 <br />year, however it was suggested that the City reapply for the 1991 <br />year. <br /> <br />Mayor Haberman thanked Mark Glocke for his representation of <br />Centerville on both the Light Rail Transit Committee and the Anoka <br />County Public Transit Committee. <br /> <br />Proposed Motor Sports Event on Centerville Lqke. <br /> <br />A representative of the stone Brothers organization was present to <br />request City Council feedback on a possible four wheel drive race <br />event on Centerville Lake in February. The representatives noted <br />several items. <br /> <br />February 4, 1990 would be the tentative date for the <br />event. <br /> <br />stone Brothers would carry it's own insurance. <br /> <br />The event would be supported by the Waterworks Bar. <br /> <br />This would be a timed event where each truck would go <br />around the lap individually. <br /> <br />stone Brothers is a four wheel drive organization. <br /> <br />Monies would be used for the promotion of four wheel <br />drive. <br /> <br />The organization does not expect a profit. <br /> <br />Centerville would be listed as co-insured with the <br />Waterworks Bar on the insurance. <br /> <br />An entrance would be near the Waterworks parking lot, and <br />this entrance would be destroyed after the event so <br />others would not use the track. <br /> <br />The event would probable be scheduled for a 9:00 a.m. <br />registration and races to be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />There would be no loud speakers. <br /> <br />If there were not enough snow for the berms, the event <br />would be cancelled for safety reasons. <br />
