<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on October 25, <br />1989. Mayor Haberman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present: Peterson, Pelton, Burgstahler, Neumann. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Neumann <br />11, 1989 City Council meeting minutes <br />amendments: <br /> <br />to accept the October <br />with the following <br /> <br />Now reads - "... . letter dated September 27, 1989"; <br /> <br />Amend to read - "... . letter dated September 27, <br />1989 to Bi tuminous Consul ting and Contracting"; <br /> <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br />COUNTY SHERIFF WILKINSON <br /> <br />Sheriff Wilkinson appeared before the City Council to update them <br />on County services and to address any questions and concerns the <br />Council may have. The Sheriff addressed many County services <br />such as felony investigations, drug enforcement, polygraph <br />service, crime lab service, incarceration services, civil <br />process, K-9 Unit, and a Swat Team. He noted that he is <br />attempting to initiate a prisoner transport service to aid local <br />police authorities to transport prisoners to the Anoka County <br />Jail. He also advised that they are currently working toward <br />automation and computerization of the Anoka County Sheriff's <br />department and the project should be complete in 1990. <br /> <br />Council member Burgstahler suggested that the Clerk/Administrator <br />put the issue of prisoner transport service on the 1990 spring <br />agenda and suggested that the City Council initiate a letter to <br />their County Commissioner in support of this project. <br /> <br />POLICE LIAISON <br /> <br />Council member Pelton advised that Centerville Police liaison <br />chairperson, Joe Pelton, has suggested that it may not be <br />necessary to attend regular City Council meetings, but would be <br />available for special projects or address issues as appropriate. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />CENTER OAKS II - FINAL APPROVAL <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to follow the suggestions <br />of Maier, Stewart & Associates in their October 2, 1989 letter <br />addressing the Center Oaks II development with regard to seeding <br />this late in the year; and that the City Council will decide at <br />their November 8, 1989 City Council meeting on how to finalize <br />the seeding issue (for example: who would be monetarily <br />responsible and are there sufficient escrows in the Center Oaks <br />
