<br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Centerville met on <br />September 13, 1989, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Council of the City of Centerville <br />recognizes the encouragement of the Anoka County Board of <br />Commissioners to proclaim September as Greater Anoka County <br />Humane Society Month, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville recognizes the establishment, <br />history, service, facilities and goals as outlined in <br />Resolution #89-77 of the Anoka County Board of <br />Commissioners; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville recognizes the efforts of the <br />Anoka County Humane Society to raise funds for building <br />additions and public outreach by hosting a 5K Walk/Run/Roll <br />for Homeless Animals on Saturday, September 23, 1989 at <br />Bunker Hills Regional Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville supports the Humane SocietY~6 <br />goals and fund raising efforts because they result in better <br />care for animals; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Centerville does <br />proclaim the month of September as Greater Anoka County <br />Humane Society Month throughout the City of Centerville and <br />encourages increased public awareness of the services <br />provided by the non-profit organization; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Centerville encourages people to participate in the 5K <br />Walk/Run/Roll for Homeless Animals by entering the race or <br />by contributing pledges in order to help the Humane Society <br />provide the proper care for abandoned and stray animals in <br />our City. <br /> <br />Adopted by this Council this 13th day of September, 1989. <br /> <br />/ ~ <br />I . <br />r-.
