Motion carried <br />unanimousIv. <br /> <br />VI. A W ARDSIPRESENTA nONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Representative Robert Dettmer <br /> <br />Representative Dettmer addressed the Council and the audience. He commented on his <br />experience as a new state Representative, a former teacher and coach, and a current <br />member of the Army Reserve. He discussed the current bonding bill, the $34 billion <br />budget, and the need to prioritize where money is spent. Representative Dettmer <br />discussed the transportation bill and the tax bill. He stated that he serves on four <br />committees including Veteran's Affairs, K-12 Education Finance, Education Policy, and <br />the Education Workforce Committees. He stressed the importance of getting involved. <br />He listed five governing principles he lives by: Does it make common sense? Is it <br />fiscally responsible and lower taxes? Does it increase our personal responsibility and <br />promote individual freedom? Does it make our families become stronger? Will it provide <br />safety and security for our citizens? <br /> <br />2. Mr. Greg Kieselhorst. Centerville Lion's <br /> <br />a. 2008 Easter Egg HUfllZ - Snecial Event Permit (Previouslv Aooroved) <br /> <br />Mr. Kieselhorst requested the use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park on March 22,2008 <br />for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. <br /> <br />b. 2008 Fete des Lacs - City Funding (Festiva1lFishimz Contest) Parade <br /> <br />Mr. Kieselhorst distributed the information and schedule fur the 18th Annual Fete des <br />Lacs Festival.
