He requested that cost participation be considered by the City for the <br />materials, which are above and beyond the original design. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz stated that he wanted the Council to be comfortable with the design <br />and plantings. He displayed photos ofthe before and after proposed look. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee recommended this proposal be presented to the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee before it is approved. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz stated that the amount of$6,260 would be the total cost to the City. <br /> <br />Consensus reached to add this to the all-committee joint meeting agenda of April 2, 2008. <br /> <br />3. !liddeR Svrml!: Park SiEnat.:e <br /> <br />3. Closinl!: on New Public Works Building <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported the building is substantially complete. He requested <br />that Council consider closing on the project prior to completing the work. He explained <br />the proposal is to close and escrow approximately $75,000 (in addition to the warranty <br />escrow of $1 00,000). <br /> <br />Mayor Capra requested a walk-through of the building prior to closing. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson distributed a list of additional items for approval in the amount <br />of$7,650. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Pa1zer, Public Works Director, requested an upgraded polyurethane coating be <br />applied to the concrete floor for better protection. He reported that the cost is about <br />$16,000; however, the lifespan is about 20 years. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Lee. seconded bv Council Member Lakso. to approve <br />the uPl!l"llded coatin!! at a cost not to exceed $16.000. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar questioned which funds would pay for the additional costs. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson replied that it would probably come from the Utility Fund. <br /> <br />Motion carried (4/1) (Councilmember Paar opposed.) <br /> <br />VIII.
