<br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Meeting Minutes February 6, 2008 <br /> <br />proposed by the other vendors, but is more like a real rock wall. Committee Member Harris <br />statcd that she liked that one better as well. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Harris, seconded by Chairperson Seeley to <br />recommend City Council approve a budget of $22,650 to do the foundation and prep work <br />for the playground in Tracie McBride Memorial Park. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Committee Member Harris, seconded by Chairperson Seeley to <br />recommend City Council approve a budget of $9,855 for installation of new playground <br />equipment in Tracie McBride Memorial Park with the understanding that the existing talk <br />tubc will be rehabilitated, if possiblc. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Dallas Larson pointed out that his eost estimates contained a contingency of $5,000 for the <br />site prep work and recommended that this amount be added. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Harris, second cd by Committee Member Selander to <br />recommend City Council include the contingency of $5,000 in the recommendation for site <br />preparation. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. UPDATES <br /> <br />Hidden Sprine: Park Improvements <br /> <br />Committee Member Amundsen reviewed the list of problems associated with Hidden Springs <br />Park construction. The shoreline restoration and rain garden still are not resolved. The committee <br />expressed concerns that remaining actions to correct the problems is still not very clear. Mr. <br />Dallas Larson will request a written report detailing the correction plan by the next meeting. <br /> <br />The artesian well is another item that hasn't been fully resolved. The water flow was not <br />acceptable. The Committee members discussed possible solutions, ineluding a new well, putting <br />in a sand point well, pumping from the lake or adding city water to the park water feature. This <br />will be put on the agenda for the next meeting for further discussion. <br /> <br />Installation of Doei-Pet Station <br /> <br />It was reported that the pet stations will be installed by spring when the parks are being used <br />agam. <br /> <br />Park Rules <br /> <br />The park rules arc being reviewed by the City Attorney for implementation. <br /> <br />VIII.
