<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City council of the <br />city of Centerville held their regular meeting on August 22, 1990. <br />Mayor Haberman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: <br />Pelton, Burgstahler, Neumann. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br /> <br />united Community Network, Inc. <br />Sharon smith, 1629 Peltier Lake Drive, and Maureen Asleson, 7232 <br />Mill Road, appeared before the City Council to make a presentation <br />regarding the United Community Network, Inc. They requested that <br />the City Council pledge $3.00 per Centerville pupil that attends <br />the Centennial School District toward the project. It was noted <br />that this would total approximately $1,053.00 for the 1990 - 1991 <br />school year. <br /> <br />A packet presented to the City Council regarding information on the <br />Centennial Area Teen Center is on file with the <br />Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />It appeared that the consensus of the City council was that the <br />program was a very good program, however, they would like to see <br />serious consideration to the coordination of the combination of the <br />United Community Network, Inc. and the Metropolitan Joint Powers <br />Agreement for Recreation. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Committee <br />The following members of the Park and Recreation Committee were <br />present to request approval of expenditures which are not budget <br />line items that have received previous City Council approval: <br />-Chairperson, steve Dixon, <br />-Linda Drilling, <br />-Neil Reisdorfer. <br /> <br />Motion by Haberman, second by Neumann to approve the expenditure <br />of Park and Recreation monies for the following items: <br />-water tower park grading, consultation and culvert - $2,000, <br />-sand for volleyball court - $1,500, <br />-rubber matting - $1,000, <br />-hot dog cooker and pop corn popper - $1,000; <br />in addition the city council approves the following expenditures <br />with regard to the City's Celebration out of the City General Fund: <br />-Tent rental - $100, <br />-Food - $200; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Chairperson Dixon advised that the dedication of the park <br />facilities would be at 2:00 p.m. at the City Celebration on <br />September 8, 1990. <br /> <br />Council member Pelton suggested that the following items be <br />reviewed before the Celebration: <br />
