<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 22, 1990 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Center Hills First Addition - Partial Pay Estimate <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Neumann that per the <br />recommendation of the City Engineer, partial pay estimate #1 to F. <br />M. Frattalone Excavating & Grading, Incorporated regarding the <br />Center Hills First Addition is approved for a dollar amount of <br />$102,682.80, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Flood Plain Reduction Project <br />John stewart, City Engineer, advised that the Clerk/Administrator <br />and himself have met with John Olson of the Anoka county Highway <br />Department and advised that the county has included the Centervil1e <br />Flood Plain Project in their 1991 Budget. Mr. stewart presented <br />a copy of the Anoka County Highway Department proposed 1991 Budget. <br /> <br />Mr. stewart also addressed a letter dated August 17, 1990 regarding <br />the Flood Plain Reduction Project. In the letter Mr. stewart <br />outlines the time table of appropriate actions. The time table <br />suggests that the City Council would order plans and specifications <br />in August or September. A copy of the letter is on file with the <br />Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to direct the city Engineer <br />to prepare the plans and specifications for the Flood Plain <br />Reduction Project in order that the design phase can be completed: <br />-the design engineering costs are not to exceed $28,000: <br />-Maier, stewart and Associates is authorized to seek <br />additional sources of grant assistance on behalf of the <br />City of Centerville; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council member Pelton advised that she would like to commend Maier, <br />stewart and Associates and in particular John Stewart and Brian <br />Miller with regarq to their success of the feasibility study and <br />in researching and locating grant sources to fund the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Haberman also noted that the county should be commended for <br />their cooperation. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to direct the City staff <br />to send a letter to the County Public Works Department indicating <br />our appreciation for the help that we have received with re~ard to <br />design and that the City also appreciates the encouragement that <br />they have given us to date: motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Water Extension <br />John Stewart, city Engineer, suggested that the City send letters <br />to the three lowest bidders of the project and advise them of the <br />process to date. <br />
