<br />Pursuant to due call and notice there the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held a special meeting on Tuesday, December <br />19, 1990. The purpose of the meeting was to interview attorneys <br />who have submitted proposals to become the primary attorney for <br />the City of Centerville. Mayor Haberman called the meeting to <br />order at 6:40 p.m. Present: Pelton, Burgstahler, Neumann. <br />Absent: Buckbee. <br /> <br />Council member Buckbee arrived at 6:50 p.m. <br /> <br />The City Council <br />6:30 p.m. - <br />7:15 p.m. - <br />8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />interviewed attorneys as follows: <br />7:00 p.m. Sweeney and Borer <br />7:45 p.m. Randall, Dehn, and Goodrich <br />8:30 p.m. Jennings, DeWan, Sicheneder and <br />Anderson, P.A. <br />9:15 p.m. Babcock, Lochner, Neilson and <br />Mannella <br /> <br />. <br />After attorney interviews the City Council rated the candidates <br />and then held a short discussion. <br /> <br />In the preliminary <br />follows: <br />1. <br /> <br />rating <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />attorney <br /> <br />firms <br /> <br />were <br /> <br />ranked as <br /> <br />Babcock, <br />Hellings; <br />2. Sweeney and Borer - Paul Ostrow; <br />3. Randall, Dehn, and Goodrich - Tom Fitzpatrick; <br />4. Jennings, DeWan, Sicheneder and Anderson, P.A. - Joseph <br />Anderson. <br /> <br />Lochner, <br /> <br />Neilson <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Mannella <br /> <br />Gregory <br /> <br />Council member Burgstahler noted that he was concerned about the <br />backup and support that was available to Mr. Hellings. He noted <br />that Sweeney and Borer appear to have more depth available to <br />Paul Ostrow. He was impressed that Tom Sweeney (senior partner) <br />came out to the interview. <br /> <br />The Clerk/Administrator will call the references of the three <br />highest ranking firms. She will also contact Gregory Hellings to <br />inquire how Centerville would fit with his Anoka County <br />prosecution calendar, what cost savings this could provide to <br />Centerville and ask him about the back up options within his <br />firm. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Buckbee to adjourn the meeting, <br />motion carried unanimously.
