<br />, <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held a budget hearing on December 6, 1990 at <br />City Hall. Mayor Haberman called the meeting to order at 7:07 <br />p.m. Present: Pelton, Burgstahler. Absent: Buckbee, Neumann. <br /> <br />The Clerk/Administrator noted that the following funds had been <br />adjusted from the November 19, 1990 budget hearing: Financial <br />Administration; Administration, Maintenance, and Signs; Capital <br />Improvement Fund; Building Fund; Long Term Maintenance; and <br />Recreation. <br /> <br />Council member Burgstahler presented the following information on <br />the chalk board for audience and Council member review: <br /> <br />House <br />Value <br />$ 68,000 <br />80,000 <br />100,000 <br />120,000 <br /> <br />Proposed <br />Tax Increase <br />$15 <br />21 <br />30 <br />14 <br /> <br />$10,000 Budget <br />Adiustment <br />$13 <br />18 <br />25 <br />35 <br /> <br />Proposed Budget <br />Tax on $80.000 Home <br />$277 <br /> <br />Breakdown of cost <br />from the $277 tax <br />Circle/Lex Police <br />Cent Fire District <br /> <br />of emergency services <br />on $80.000 home <br />$184* <br />67 <br /> <br />*(Anoka County Sheriff if Centerville had accepted their <br />proposal would have been $114 on an $80,000 home.) <br /> <br />Maureen Asleson, 7232 Mill Road, asked questions of the proposed <br />1991 budget. <br /> <br />Council member Burgstahler noted that he felt that the long term <br />goal of the City would be to decrease versus increase taxes. He <br />noted that the police contract now appears stable and that the <br />growth of the City should enable the taxes to also stabilize or <br />decrease. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Haberman to certify $295,888 to <br />the Anoka County Auditor as Centerville's 1991 tax levy, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The following audience members made comments regarding staff <br />wages and benefits: <br />Mike Davis, 7156 Brian Drive; <br />Heinz Pedolsky, 7141 Brian Way; <br />Tom Wilharber, Centerville Road. <br /> <br />Some comments made by audience members and City Council were as <br />
