<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 12, 1990 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />be better for the children to be off the streets when trying <br />to access the City parks. <br />-She noted that the City would like to see Mill Road have a <br />travel access for children, but at this time it is not <br />financially feasible. <br /> <br />Mayor Haberman noted that the developer will be installing the <br />sidewalk in Hardwood Ponds, and that if a developer were to come <br />in and offer to put a sidewalk down Mill Road the City would gladly <br />accept that offer. He also noted a concern of using the sidewalk <br />money for park land as he felt it was important to get the children <br />safely to the park via the sidewalks versus requiring them to walk <br />in the streets. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Buckbee to request that the <br />sidewalk in the Hardwood Pond Estates development be placed on the <br />next City Council agenda in order to give the Council time to <br />review the situation, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Center Street Maintenance <br />Motion by Pel ton, second by Burgstahler to table discussion of <br />Center Street maintenance until the September 26, 1990 City Council <br />meeting when the City Engineer can prepare his letter regarding <br />this issue, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Municipal Facility <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pel ton to table discussion of <br />Municipal Facilities until the September 26, 1990 City Council <br />meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council member Neumann left the meeting at 9:50 p.m. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />variance Request - 1847 prairie Drive - to Erect an Attached Deck <br />24 Feet From the East Property Line of the Property Described as <br />Lot 7. Block 1. Centerville Heights <br />A copy of the variance request is on file with the <br />Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />Tracy TObin, property owner of Lot 7, Block 1, Centerville Heights, <br />was present to address any questions or concerns of the City <br />Council. Mr. Tobin noted that due to approval by the city of <br />Centerville for his deck permit he has placed footings in the <br />ground and has ordered lumber which is currently in his driveway. <br />He noted that the encroachment into the setback was not caught by <br />city officials before the deck permit was issued. <br />
