<br />City Council October 25, 1995 Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that he spoke with Milo Bennett and Little Rascal has passed the <br />inspection and will have annual inspections just like all other businesses. <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Buckbee to approve the amendment to the Little <br />Rascal Special Use Permit. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />lIRA <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner stated that she has been attending the intergovernmental meeting <br />for the HRA. There are currently three communities looking at senior housing: Ham <br />Lake, Lexington and Centerville. Next step is to set up a workshop with the HRA staff. <br />Ham Lake has land and plans, Lexington and Centerville are at the same stage. Financing <br />would be more favorable in a combined effort - for bonding. Three staff members would <br />come out and explain the procedure and answer any questions. They would conduct a <br />market survey which would cost about $3,000.00, this cost can be pulled back from the <br />HRA levy. <br /> <br />Consensus to have workshop meeting on November 21, 1995 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss <br />senior housing. Staff is to prepare notice and notify the paper the also the people who <br />were in attendance for the meeting held at St. Genevieves. <br /> <br />WATERWORKS SPRINKLER SYSTEM <br /> <br />The city has no control to authorize Waterworks to have alternations made to the building <br />without putting a sprinkler system in, it is a state requirement. <br /> <br />Staff is to send a letter to Ken Sorenson stating the city cannot override the state law and <br />also provide him with the option of petitioning for water service. <br /> <br />Staff is to send a letter to William Gajeski stating it has been passed to the building <br />inspector for review and recommendations. <br /> <br />METROPOLITAN LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner stated that EDC would recommend the city participate in the <br />Metropolitan Livable Communities Act at a cost of$551.00 yearly. <br /> <br />MOTION by Brenner, second by Helmbrecht to adopt Resolution 95-22, a resolution <br />electing to participate in the local housing incentives account program under the <br />Metropolitan Livable Communities Act. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmember Brenner added that goals need to be put together and adopted by January <br />15, 1996.
