<br />, <br /> <br />t ' <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, <br />Council held their scheduled Truth and <br />Thursday, December 2, 1993 at the City <br />called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />Helmbrecht, Wilharber. Absent: Dario. <br /> <br />the Centerville City <br />Taxation Hearing on <br />Hall. Mayor Buckbee <br />Present: Brenner, <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber noted the importance of maintaining the <br />current City equipment and streets. He appeared to feel that <br />Centerville was getting the best service for the dollar with the <br />Circle Pines/Lexington Police Department and would like to see <br />the City pursue a Joint Powers Agreement. He also advised that <br />he felt it in the best interest of the City to keep the street <br />maintenance budget at $45,000 versus cutting it to $40,000. <br /> <br />Tamara Miltz-Miller, Clerk/Administrator advised <br />appears to be approximately a $5,000 carryover <br />street maintenance. <br /> <br />that there <br />from 1993 for <br /> <br />Wilharber appeared to feel strongly that it would be important to <br />leave the $5,000 carryover in the account as a cushion. He noted <br />that prices and bids can be unpredictable. He felt that if the <br />City were to cut street maintenance short, some day the City <br />would pay a higher cost with reconstruction. <br /> <br />Council member Helmbrecht was in agreement that the street <br />maintenance budget should be kept at $45,000. <br /> <br />Council member Brenner appeared to feel it would <br />to cut the street maintenance budget to $40,000. <br />appeared to agree. <br /> <br />be appropriate <br />Mayor Buckbee <br /> <br />The following audience members made comment <br />proposed 1994 budget: <br />- John Sullivan, 6926 Oak Circle; <br />Dawn and Jerry Fuhrmeister, 6913 Oak Circle; <br />Lorraine Henslin, 1967 73rd Street; <br />Jeff Fenner, 6918 Oak Circle; <br />Jeff Turner, 7151 Peterson Trail; <br />Ken Carpenter, 6885 20th Avenue South; <br />Mary Jane Lang, 1559 Peltier Lake Drive. <br /> <br />regarding the <br /> <br />Ms. Miltz-Miller noted that two days ago, a notice from the <br />League of Minnesota Cities was recieved that advised of possible <br />Local Government Aid cuts in 1994. Miltz-Miller noted that the <br />proposed cuts are not reflected in the proposed budget and that <br />there has not been enough time to contact other cities to see how <br />the proposed cuts are being reflected in their 1994 budgets. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Brenner making an announcement <br />that this Truth and Taxation Hearing will be continued to the <br />scheduled date of December 9, 1993 at 7:00 p.m., motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Neil Reisdorfer, Park and Recreation Committee member was present <br />
