City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />Apri123, 2008 <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Lakso, for the city to incur the cost of the $13,524.92 refund. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />3. Mr. Lynn Johnson -Transient Sales Application and Waiving of Fee - (Apri124- <br />May17, 2008) -Walk for Sight Fund Raiser <br />City Administrator Larson explained that Mr. Johnson requested the City waive the fee <br />normally charged for transient sales. He explained that if sales are conducted by an <br />individual known to a resident, a permit is not required. <br />Councilmember Broussard-Vickers stated that she did not think, in this case, a transient <br />license was needed, much less the fee. <br />City Administrator Larson stated that someone would have to check more completely <br />into who it is. <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that technically all sellers who sell to strangers as well as <br />those who solicit contributions, should have a transient license, unless the folks know <br />each other. He added that some people get around it by having a neighborhood leader. <br />He then stated that this particular case should be decided by the City Council. <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Parr, <br />to waive the transient license fee based on the information that it is for charity. All <br />in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1. City Administrator Larson <br />City Administrator Larson reported the auditors had been to City Hall and that he would <br />draft the audit for presentation the end of May or first of June 2008. <br />City Administrator Larson commented that his annual review is due. <br />Mayor Capra stated that an Executive Session would be held for City Administrator <br />Carson's review. <br />City Administrator Larson also reminded everyone of the next Public Hearing on May 1, <br />2008 at the St. Genevieve Community Parish Center. <br />2. Police Report <br />Sergeant Aldridge reported that Officer Dan Gates resigned. He stated the Alcohol <br />Compliance Checks were completed resulting in no failures in any of the three cities. He <br />reported that Officer Aaronson proposed a project that the address be placed on the back <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />
