City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />Apri19, 2008 <br />Councilmember Lee stated that it costs more to perform street sweeping twice per year <br />and asked if the City will be held to this standard if the SWPPP states that the City streets <br />are swept twice each year. <br />City Engineer Statz stated that the Pollution Control Agency may comment that streets <br />are not swept enough if the document states the streets are swept once each year. <br />Mayor Capra stated that the City sweeps the streets in the spring and does not budget for <br />an additional street sweeping and directed staff to revise the document accordingly. <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar, <br />to approve the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP), as amended. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Independent Security Solutions, Inc. Proposal <br />a. FireBurglary System -Public Works, 2085 Cedar Street - $1,853.98 <br />b. Approve Monitoring Agreement <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the City proposes to put motion detectors and <br />alarms in the public works building and to have the system monitored. He stated that the <br />cost for installation of the system is $1,853.98 plus monthly monitoring services at about <br />$35 per month. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, <br />to approve the expenditure of $1,853.98 for the installation of a fire/burglary system <br />at Public Works, 2085 Cedar Street, and to approve the Monitoring Agreement. <br />Councilmember Lakso asked if the monitoring agreement runs for an indefinite period. <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the contract can be changed later if the City desires. <br />Councilmember Lee asked if the City Attorney had reviewed the monitoring agreement. <br />City Attorney Glaser replied he has only seen the proposal from Independent Security <br />Solutions Inc. <br />Amendment motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member <br />Broussard-Vickers, to amend the motion to also approve the Monitoring <br />Agreement, subiect to review by the City Attorney and upon proof of adequate <br />insurance coverage by Independent Security Solutions Inc. <br />All in favor.
