<br />Cake and coffee was served prior to the August 12~ 1987 City <br />Council meeting to show appreciation for the service of Dick <br />Robischon, who resigned from the Council effective August 1, <br />1987. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville <br />City Council held their meeting on Wednesday, August 12, 1987 at <br />City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the meeting to order at 7:00 <br />p.m. Present: Fritchie, Laska, Neumann, Wilharber. <br /> <br />Swearing in of Tom Wilharber, as Council member to serve out the <br />remaining term of Dick Robischon, by City Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Neumann to accept the minutes of <br />the July 22, 1987 regular meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to accept the minutes of <br />the July 28, 1987 special meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br />Council member Laska noted torn fabric and insufficient fill on <br />the roads that are being reconstructed, but now the roads are <br />paved and the City Engineer will have to answer to any problems <br />with this. <br /> <br />Concerns from audience regarding roads: <br />Maureen Asleson, 7232 Mill Road <br />Myra Spijer, 7200 Mill Road <br />Earl Kruger, 1568 Peltier Lake Drive <br />Carol Pelton, 7178 Mill Road <br />Helen Arhip, 1537 Peltier Lake Drive <br />Mayor L'Allier that these concerns could be addressed later in <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />George Haberman, 7288 Mill Road requests <br />tennis courts to make them playable. <br />this would cost the City $250.00 <br /> <br />that the City fix the <br />He had been advised that <br /> <br />Carol Pelton, Chairperson of the Park and Recreation Committee <br />advised that it would cost $25,000.00 to fix the court, <br />$18,000.00 to build a new one, and $30,000.00 to build two new <br />courts. The City must meet liability requirements of the school, <br />thus can not simply patch the present holes. <br /> <br />Ethel Woestehoff, 7076 Goiffon Avenue requests the City cut the <br />weeds on the edge of her property which are on City property. <br />Mayor L'Allier advised Orville Hughes, Public Works Director of <br />this and advised Ms. Woestehoff that if this is indeed City <br />property the City will cut the weeds. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Discussion of proposed Sorel Street improvement. The effected <br />abutting property owners: Kevin Mullins, 7000 West Shadow Lake <br />Drive, Lino Lakes, Ethel Woestehoff, 7076 Goiffon Avenue, and St. <br />
