<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville <br />City Council held a public hearing Tuesday, July 28, 1987 at City <br />Hall. Mayor L~Allier called the hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present: Fritchie, Robischon, Laska, Neumann. <br /> <br />The purpose was to hear all persons present regarding a petition <br />by Kevin Mullins, 7000 West Shadow Lake Drive, Lino Lakes to <br />improve the dedicated section of Sorel Street that is West of <br />Goiffon Avenue and East of Centerville Lake, so that he may build <br />a home on land that he has purchased abutting Centerville Lake. <br /> <br />John Stewart, City Engineer presented three alternative in a more <br />in depth study of the proposed project. This study is on file <br />with the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Carol Pelton, 7178 Mill Road representing the Park and Recreation <br />Committee, requested public access to Centerville Lake from Sorel <br />Street and a passive park trail along the lake. <br /> <br />Members of the audience expressed their opinions on the project: <br /> <br />Kevin Mullins, 7000 West Shadow Lake Drive, Lino Lakes <br />Don Marier, 1801 East 77th Street, Lino Lakes <br />Ethel Woestenhoff, 7067 Goiffon Avenue, Centerville <br />Robert Barrott, 6953 Centerville Road, Centerville <br />Tom Wilharber, 6849 Centerville Road, Centerville <br /> <br />An additional option of vacating the street and deeding the land <br />under the vacated street to Kevin Mullins for use as a private <br />driveway. <br /> <br />Of the three property owner~B involved, Ethel Woestenhoff and <br />representatives of St. Genevieve~B Church seem agreeable to this <br />option. Mr. Mullins is concerned about overflow parking and cost <br />of maintenance of such a long driveway. Possible problems with <br />erosion and sewer easement were noted. It was also pointed out <br />that vacation of the street would eliminate the prospect of a <br />public access and may help eliminate some ill will among <br />neighbors. <br /> <br />Hearing adjourned 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice there of, the City of Centerville <br />City Council called a meeting to order to discuss the Sorel <br />Street Improvement project, Tuesday, July 28, 1987 at 8:06 p.m. <br />Present: L'Allier, Fritchie, Laska, Neumann, Robischon. <br /> <br />Motion by Laska, second by Robischon to have Clerk contact City <br />Attorney to check on whether the City can issue a building <br />permit on an unimproved street and what this would involve, aye: <br />Laska, Neumann, L'Allier, Robischon; nay: Fritchie. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Neumann to table the Sorel Street <br />Improvement project until the property owners involved can City <br />
