<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council <br />of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on <br />February 11, 1987 at City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called <br />the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Present: Fritchie, <br />Robischon, Laska, Neumann. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to accept the minutes <br />of the January 28, 1987 council meeting, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />INTERVIEWS: <br />Interview of Tamara Miltz-Miller, 4739 - 106th Lane NE, <br />Circle Pines and Jane Apland, 3905 Flowerfield Road, <br />Lexington, for the position of City Clerk/Treasurer. Both <br />candidates received excellent references from previous <br />employers. Appointment to be made later in the meeting. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: <br />Councilmember Laska reported trying to snow blow the hockey <br />rink with his equipment, picking up a broken hockey stick <br />in the blower and bending the shaft. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Discussion on course of action to take referencing the <br />subject of new city attorney. Motion by Neumann, second <br />by Laska to interview Mark A. Karney, Attorney at Law <br />for informational purposes; aye - Robischon, Laska, <br />Neumann, L'Allier; nay - Fritchie, motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk will set up interview with Mark A. Karney for the <br />February 25th meeting. <br /> <br />Presentation by John Stewart, Maier, Stewart & Associates, <br />Centerville's City Engineer, on sealcoating the streets in <br />Centerville not being considered for reconstruction. The <br />City will have $40,000 by the end of 1987 for maintenance <br />of streets. The engineerin~ costs for this project are <br />estimated at approximately $1500.00. Motion by Fritchie, <br />second by Neumann to direct the City Engineers to proceed <br />with the specifications for the sealcoating project <br />including the streets in Royal Meadows, having the <br />inspections done by city maintenance personnel with the <br />City Engineers instruction, and allowing the bidding process <br />to be done now with the project to be done in July, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Engineer will work with the City Clerk to establish <br />the bid open time. <br /> <br />City Engineer John Stewart also presented information on the <br />recently completed survey of the roads needing reconstruction. <br />The estimates originally presented at the public hearing <br />in November were good. The plans and specifications would <br />require a minimum of four weeks to prepare - additional time <br />would be appreciated.
