<br />Page Three - City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 11, 1987 <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Appearance of Jim Merila, Merila & Associates and Dick <br />Wedell, Harstad: Companies. Messrs. Merila and Wedell <br />presented a preliminary sketch plan of Centerville Heights - <br />a proposed developement for the property east of Mill Road <br />andriorth of Main Street. Their plan is proposing lot sizes <br />smaller than the Centerville Ordinance #4 requirement of <br />15,000 sq. feet per lot. They are requesting the council <br />look at the possibility of reducing the lot size requirement. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Neumann to direct the City <br />Engineer and City Planner form a response to the Harstad <br />project for amendment to Ordinance #4, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Robischon to replace the <br />stolen snowblower and chainsaw, motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk will check with the Park & Recreation Committee to <br />confirm the model of snowblower previously used was <br />adequate. <br /> <br />The SAC refund issue will be tabled until the February <br />25th meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Robischon, second by Laska to approve resolution <br />no. 2 authorizing the Metropolitan Council to implement <br />the section 8 existing rent assistance progr~l within the <br />City of Centerville, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Appearance of Carol Pel ton Chairman of the Park & Recreation <br />Committee to notify the council of Park & Recreations <br />recommendation for committee appointees for 1987. She <br />requested council approval of these appointees this evening. <br />Motion by Robischon, second by Laska to appoint Steve <br />Appel, 7257 Centerville Road, Cindy Paschke, 1740 Peltier <br />Lake Drive and Gerald Letendre, 1397 Mound Trail to the <br />Park & Recreation Committee for 1987, terms to expire <br />December J1, 1987, motion carried unanimously. Clerk will <br />make note to stagger terms when appointments are made for <br />1988. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Laska to close the rink for <br />the 1986-1987 season due to warm weather conditions, <br />motia carried unanimously. Clerk will have satellite <br />removed and rink lights turned off. <br /> <br />Council agreed to pay the 1987 annual membership dues to <br />the Anoka County Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Council directed Tom Snell to go ahead with an economic <br />development meeting if he could get interest from the <br />local businesses. <br />
