<br />1. Worked - An employee required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the <br />rate of one and one-half times the employee's base pay. <br /> <br />2. Not Worked - An employee not scheduled to work on holidays will <br />received their normal hourly rate exclusive of overtime premiums. <br /> <br />3. On Leave - Holidays occurring during an employee's vacation leave, sick <br />leave, or funeral leave will be considered a holiday and the employee will not <br />be charged for vacation on the day. <br /> <br />8 VACATION LEAVE <br /> <br />8.1 General <br /> <br />Employees who have worked for the City for at least six months are eligible to <br />accrue vacation leave from the date the employee is hired. Vacation leave will <br />be available for use as it is accrued during the first year of employment. Each <br />year thereafter, vacation will be awarded at the employee's anniversary date <br />according to the vacation accrual schedule below. <br /> <br />8.2 Accrual <br /> <br />Full-time employees shall earn vacation leave at the following rates. Part-time <br />employees shall be compensated on a pro-rated basis. <br /> <br />Years of Service <br />0-5 <br />6 - 10 <br />10 + <br /> <br />Vacation Earned <br />6.67 hrs. per month <br />10 hrs. per month <br />13.33 hrs. per month <br /> <br />8.3 Requirements <br /> <br />1. Vacation must be approved in advance by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />2. A vacation week will consist of the average number of regular hours <br />per day, days per week worked over the previous year, not to <br />exceed eight hours per day or forty hours per week. <br /> <br />3. In the event of termination, full time employees will be <br />compensated for all earned vacation at his or her regular rate of <br />pay. <br /> <br />4. Requests to use paid vacation shall be received at least twenty-four <br />hours in advance of the requested time off, preferably longer. This <br />notice may be waived at the discretion of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />15 <br />
