Shoreland Ordinance - DNR Response <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that in discussions with the DNR, Centerville is not <br />required to have shoreland preservation rules, however, he feels that it may be prudent for <br />the City to adapt some of the information from their provisions for the City. <br /> <br />Commissioner HaDZal asked what the benefit of adopting a more concise ordinance <br />would be. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that it would provide protection in the 75-foot setback <br />area. He stated that he feels the concise version could be rolled into the zoning ordinance <br />before the next meeting and then a public hearing can be scheduled after the November <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanzal thanked City Administrator Larson for adapting the DNR <br />ordinance into a very concise, yet comprehensive plan that is readable by the "Average <br />Joe" . <br /> <br />v. NEW BUSINESS - continued... <br /> <br />2. Consider Additional Regulations of Storage Structures.. Storage Tents.. PODS.. <br />Storage Trailers.. etc. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that some communities have adopted regulations to <br />control tent structures and storage PODS. City Administrator Larson stated that <br />Centerville has nothing specific in our ordinances that bans or limits these types of <br />structures other than for use in a construction project. <br /> <br />The Commission talked about prior discussions held that would limit all temporary, POD <br />type structures. There was a consensus of the Commission to discuss this at the January <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that he will review this information in greater detail <br />before the January meeting. <br /> <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />Chair Hanson asked if the November Planning Commission would need to be <br />rescheduled because of Election Day. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that he will check into the schedule and let the <br />Commission know if rescheduling is needed. <br /> <br />Page 6 of7 <br />
