<br />RESOLUTION 2-76 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has been faced with a problem of <br />pollution of its stream and lake waters due to failing septic systems <br />and drain fields, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul has shown great concern over the <br />discharge of pollutants into these streams and lakes because of their <br />use as a prime source of water for the City of St. Paul, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka County Comprehensive Health Department has <br />also shown concern over the failure of the septic systems and drain <br />fields in the City of Centerville and feels the only permanent <br />solution to these problems is the construction of sanitary sewer <br />facilities within the City of Centerville and a connection for these <br />facilities to a metropolitan interceptor, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has conducted <br />a hearing on February 4, 1976, on proposed commission plans for sol- <br />ution of pollution problems of City of Centerville at which time <br />the City of Centerville presented its views on posposal. A copy <br />of presentation is attached hereto, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Management Policy Plan has <br />given the Centerville interceptor project a priority for 1976 <br />construction, and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has submitted for the Metro <br />Council approval its revised comprehensive sewer and land use plan, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville stands ready to conduct <br />hearings on its proposed local sewage system upon approval of the <br />Centerville interceptor project by the Council, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the City of Centerville <br />does respectfully request the members of the Metropolitan Council <br />to give the matter of the Centerville Interceptor their considered <br />deliberation and fervently hope the Council will amend the 1976 <br />policy plan for its inclusion this year. <br />-~TYl OF..C~N~ERVl}~E . ,- , <br />I ) I d itfA' 1: l (/Itf& ~~L <br />U M yQR <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />ATTe.~T'I/ ", LrL <br />\.$i:~~~~UR~R) <br />
