RESOLUTION 2-76 WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has been faced with a problem of pollution of its stream and lake waters due to failing septic systems and drain fields, and WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul has shown great concern over the discharge of pollutants into these streams and lakes because of their use as a prime source of water for the City of St. Paul, and WHEREAS, the Anoka County Comprehensive Health Department has also shown concern over the failure of the septic systems and drain fields in the City of Centerville and feels the only permanent solution to these problems is the construction of sanitary sewer facilities within the City of Centerville and a connection for these facilities to a metropolitan interceptor, and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has conducted a hearing on February 4, 1976, on proposed commission plans for sol- ution of pollution problems of City of Centerville at which time the City of Centerville presented its views on posposal. A copy of presentation is attached hereto, and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Management Policy Plan has given the Centerville interceptor project a priority for 1976 construction, and ' WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has submitted for the Metro Council approval its revised comprehensive sewer and land use plan, and WHEREAS, the City of Centerville stands ready to conduct hearings on its proposed local sewage system upon approval of the Centerville interceptor project by the Council, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the City of Centerville does respectfully request the members of the Metropolitan Council to give the matter of the Centerville Interceptor their considered deliberation and fervently hope the Council will amend the 1976 policy plan for its inclusion this year. -~TYl OF..C~N~ERVl}~E . ,- , I ) I d itfA' 1: l (/Itf& ~~L U M yQR ., ATTe.~T'I/ ", LrL \.$i:~~~~UR~R)
