<br />-2- <br /> <br />SECTION v. ~ Issuance of Tags. Upon the payment of the license <br />fee and presentation of a rabies vaccination certificate the City <br />shall issue a license tag to the owner. Duplicate tags may be <br />issued for $1.00 in replacement of a lost tag. Dog tags shall not <br />be transferred from one dog to another and no refunds shall be <br />made for any dog license fee. <br /> <br />~ Affixing Ta~s. Every owner of a rlOg requiren to <br />be licen~erl i~ required to provirle such ~og with a collar to which <br />the license ann vaccination taFs must be ~ffixed and the collar <br />wi th tags attached must be v'orn by such dog at all times. <br /> <br />SECTION VI. Records. The City shall keep a record of all dog <br />licenseq i8~ued with the name, adrlres8 and phone number of the <br />person to whom iRsued and name, age, description of the dog and <br />dates of rabies vaccinations. <br /> <br />SECTION VII. A. Irnnounding. Any nag founn running at large or <br />any dog founn without valid t~~c di~n]ayen ~hall be seized and may <br />be imnounr1en. All dog~ imnounneti ~hall be kept for at least. five <br />days, unle~s ~ooner reclaimed by the owner or returned to the owner. <br /> <br />B. Re~emntion. Any ~op may be redeemed from the <br />pounn by the owner upon the nayment of imnounrlment fee for each day <br />of imnounnment an~ if the O\ffier has a current licen~e attached to <br />the animal an~ nroof of rabie~ vaccination is presented. Said fee <br />shall be set by City Council an~ reviewed periodically and kept <br />on record with the City Clerk ann Pounnmaster. <br /> <br />c. Permissible Return of Unrestrained Do~. Notwith- <br />standing the proviRionR of paragraDh A, if a licensed animal is <br />found unre~trained and its oymer can be identified and located, <br />such animal need not be impounded but may, instearl be taken to the <br />owner. In such ca~e, however, proceeding~ may be taken against <br />the owner for violation of thi~ ordinance. <br /> <br />D. Dispopi tion of TJnclaimed Dogs. Anv oog which iR <br />not claimed within five days after impounding may be~ sold, for not <br />less than the amount nroviden in paragraph B to anyone desiring to <br />purchase the dog, unle~s sain dOf i8 requested by a licensed educa- <br />tion ~cientific institution unrler Minnesota Statute Section 15.71. <br />All such fund~ shall be paid to the City of Centerville and placed <br />in the General Fund. Any do,q which is not claimed by the Qvmer or <br />sold ~hall be humanely destroye~. <br /> <br />SECTION VIII. E~tablishment of Pound. A City pound is established <br />which shall be at such location, either within or without the City, <br />as the Council by re~olution shall rle~ignate. A poundmaster shall <br />be appointed by the Council who shall attenn to the maintenance of <br />such pound and he shall file a monthly report with the Council <br />relating to the operation of such nound. The nound Rhall be main- <br />tained in a clean and orderly manner and Rubject to periodic <br />inspection by the City Health Officer. <br />
