(/ The City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, July 27, 1977 in the City Hall. Mayor Prachar called the meeting to order at 8100 pm. Present were: Burque, L'Allier and Peterson. Absent: Murray. Fran Burque made a motion to accept minutes of meeting held July 13, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. Father Lally appeared before council with regard to the damages to the church and school property due to the easement acquisition required by the sewer construction. Discussion was held on the problem and Mayor asked the Father to request the church attorney and parties interested to meet with the city council to at~empt to work out their differences. Allan LaMotte appeared before council requesting a 3.2 beer permit for a ball tournament to be held on Saturday, Sunday, July 30 and 31 at the Twin Lakes Pavillion. Leon L'Allier made a motion to issue the permit with the stipulation that the grounds are cleaned up afterwards, the selling of beer concludes at 8:00 PM each evening, there will be someone to patrol the parking of. cars and a fee will be asked of $5.00 for permit, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. The following people advised council of items they wished to have corrected due to the sewer construction: Jerry Sundberg, Des Englund, John Peterson. Leon L'Allier and oral request from Mrs. Seashore through Fran Burque. Clerk to advise Nick from Carley Engineering on items requested. Mayor informed council of the following communications: Metropolitan Waste Control Commission on approval of Comprehensive Sewer Plan for the City of Centerville; Anoka County Fire Pro- tection Council on request for additional radio dispatch personnel; Metropolitan Council advising the receipt of the Athletic Court grant application for the city and informed council that our request for a grant for watermain and street restoration in the city had been denied. Mayor read request from Andrew Cardinal, Chairman of the St. Genevieve's picnic for a 3.2 beer and bingo permit for Sunday, August 21 to be held on the church lawn. Mr. Cardinal also requested permission to rope off the portion of Goiffon Street between the church and parish house to keep unnecessary traffic out and that each rope would be manned in case of eme~gency. John Peterson made a motion to issue the permit and rope off the above named street on August 21, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. The following bids were received for removal of the City's diseased elm trees: LeRoy J. Houle Contracting - 4 trees removed - $587.00 Centerville Fire Department - 4 trees removed - $560.00 John Peterson made a motion to accept the Fire Department bid, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. ~
