<br />(/ <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, July 27, 1977 in the City Hall. Mayor <br />Prachar called the meeting to order at 8100 pm. Present were: <br />Burque, L'Allier and Peterson. Absent: Murray. <br /> <br />Fran Burque made a motion to accept minutes of meeting held July <br />13, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Father Lally appeared before council with regard to the damages <br />to the church and school property due to the easement acquisition <br />required by the sewer construction. Discussion was held on the <br />problem and Mayor asked the Father to request the church attorney <br />and parties interested to meet with the city council to at~empt <br />to work out their differences. <br /> <br />Allan LaMotte appeared before council requesting a 3.2 beer <br />permit for a ball tournament to be held on Saturday, Sunday, <br />July 30 and 31 at the Twin Lakes Pavillion. Leon L'Allier <br />made a motion to issue the permit with the stipulation that <br />the grounds are cleaned up afterwards, the selling of beer <br />concludes at 8:00 PM each evening, there will be someone to <br />patrol the parking of. cars and a fee will be asked of $5.00 <br />for permit, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />The following people advised council of items they wished to have <br />corrected due to the sewer construction: Jerry Sundberg, Des <br />Englund, John Peterson. Leon L'Allier and oral request from <br />Mrs. Seashore through Fran Burque. Clerk to advise Nick from <br />Carley Engineering on items requested. <br /> <br />Mayor informed council of the following communications: <br />Metropolitan Waste Control Commission on approval of Comprehensive <br />Sewer Plan for the City of Centerville; Anoka County Fire Pro- <br />tection Council on request for additional radio dispatch personnel; <br />Metropolitan Council advising the receipt of the Athletic Court <br />grant application for the city and informed council that our <br />request for a grant for watermain and street restoration in the <br />city had been denied. <br /> <br />Mayor read request from Andrew Cardinal, Chairman of the St. <br />Genevieve's picnic for a 3.2 beer and bingo permit for Sunday, <br />August 21 to be held on the church lawn. Mr. Cardinal also <br />requested permission to rope off the portion of Goiffon Street <br />between the church and parish house to keep unnecessary traffic <br />out and that each rope would be manned in case of eme~gency. <br />John Peterson made a motion to issue the permit and rope off the <br />above named street on August 21, Fran Burque seconded it, motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />The following bids were received for removal of the City's <br />diseased elm trees: <br />LeRoy J. Houle Contracting - 4 trees removed - $587.00 <br />Centerville Fire Department - 4 trees removed - $560.00 <br />John Peterson made a motion to accept the Fire Department bid, <br />Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />~ <br />
