<br />The City Council of the City of Centerville held their meeting on <br />W;,,~I';'esday, April 27, 1977 in the City Hall. Mayor Prachar called the meeting <br />to order at 7:00 pm. Present were: Burque, L'Allier, Murray and <br />Peterson. <br /> <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to accept minutes of meeting held April <br />I), John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Complaints were recorded on the number <br />of days the Brian Street residents were without their mail boxes; <br />the repeated requests for grading on Brian Street, other complaints <br />were to be registered when Walt Williams arrived at meeting. <br /> <br />The matter of rezoning on the SEt of the SEt of Section 23, Town- <br />ship 31, Range 22, Anoka County; Minnesota was taken up. Mr. <br />Larry Brokke of L & B Tree Service described to the council the <br />building that was going to be done on the above described property <br />if the rezoning is approved. The council looked at a print of <br />the above and Mr. Brokke advised them of the 100x60 maintenance <br />building and 50x50 office building that would be erected on the <br />front portion of property and the back portion would in the future <br />house a greenhouse, pole barn and maybe a small office building. <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to rezone the 8.5 acre~ or South 265' <br />of the SEt of the SEt of Section 23, Township 31, Range 22, Anoka <br />County, "Minnesota, from agricultural-residential to commercial <br />classification, Leon L'Allier seconded it, motion carried. Council <br />approved the rezoning of the above property on the request of <br />L & B Tree Service, present owners, for expansion of their operation. <br />Council felt the rezoning was desirable as the property was not <br />suitable for development as residential. <br /> <br />Mr. Brokke requested a special use permit for a period of 90 days <br />to house a 12x55 trailer on the above described property while the <br />maintenance building is being put up. This trailer would serve <br />as an office for this interim period. Leon L'Allier made a motion <br />to allow a 90 day special use permit, fee $5.00, be given to L & B <br />Tree Service for the housing of the above described trailer on <br />6805 20th Avenue South while they are building the maintenance shop, <br />John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Prachar read reply from Superintendent McClellan on the <br />issue of tennis courts in Centerville. After further discussion, <br />Mayor Prachar appointed Elmer Murray to act as liaison for the <br />City Council and meet with Superintendent McClellan and other <br />interested parties to discuss possibilities of (1) school district <br />building tennis courts and city leasing them; (2) who would take <br />care of maintenance of courts and carry insurance for same; (3). <br />putting black top surface on courts and they would serve dual <br />purpose; and (4) if the building of courts could in any way be <br />done jointly. <br /> <br />Mayor Prachar advised council of Law Day, Sunday, May 1st, 1977, <br />at the Anoka County Court House from noon ~o 5:00 pm. <br /> <br />~ <br />
