<br />r <br /> <br />A special meeting was held on Monday, February 14, 1977 at <br />7:)0 pm with the City Council of the City of Centerville <br />and Dave Torkildson, Director of Parks, Anoka County to discuss <br />the Chain of Lakes Park. <br /> <br />Present were Burque, L'Allier, Peterson - Absent, Murray. <br />Bob LaMotte represented Planning and Zoning. <br /> <br />Mr. Torkildson gave some background on the Park Committee <br />which was set up to form guidelines for the Chain of Lakes <br />Park. <br /> <br />He informed the council of the following items: <br /> <br />$680,000. would be received by 1979 from the Metro Council. <br />This would take care of parkways, parking lots, picnic areas, <br />swimming beach - these items would be set up by priorities <br />by the Park Committee. The Kohler Home would be the Beach <br />House, Hensel Home would be a group home for boys until <br />Cartier home is available in about 4 years. Hensel's home <br />would be a headquarter site with some equipment storage and <br />office. Mr. Torkildson pointed out on the Chain of Lakes <br />map the horseback trails, snowmobile trails (mostly on lakes) , <br />disposal area for diseased elm trees, overnight camping area, <br />possible sawmill, if funding available. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the policing and fire protection <br />for the park area. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:)0 pm. <br /> <br />Res. tmly submi t,ted, <br />", -./.
